General Questions

Is this education mandatory?
Yes, it is mandatory. You must complete all of the modules for the Resident Support Aide (LTC) under the Required Course section. You are required to access, read and understand all topics in order to learn the required functions of the Resident Support Aide (LTC) role. When you are placed at a long-term Care home, an Education Coordinator will review your understanding of this course with you and provide an orientation.

The Resources section on this site contains additional modules that are not required in your initial training. You can access all of the material on moodle.michenersolutions.ca at any time while you are an RSA. It will continue to be updated with new material to support you.

How much time will it take me to complete this course?
On average, it will take 2 days or 15 hours to complete this course.

How long do I have to complete the course?
You will have 1 week to complete the online course from the time you register.

What happens to my application for the OWRSS program if I do not complete the training within 1 week?
If you do not complete the course within 1 week, the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) will mark your application as incomplete and your profile will be removed from moodle.michenersolutions.ca. The HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) will not proceed with your application.

Is there a registration fee to access the materials?
No, there is no registration fee.

Will I get a certificate for completing content on this platform?
No, participation in any of the learning activities on this website will not yield certification in any of the areas being reviewed or covered. This content is strictly for the preparation of applicants for the Resident Support Aide role through the OWRSS program.

You will receive a Letter of Completion to confirm you have finished the required 15 hours of training. You can download a copy of this letter upon completion. We will provide your completion status directly to the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) to continue your application process. You are not required to notify them or upload any confirmation. This will be done for you.

Will I receive a completion report for the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) and the Partner Agency employer?
We will send your completion status of the Required Course to the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG), and they will update your status in the Ontario Matching Portal (OMP). You can also download a copy of your Letter of Completion from the Resident Support Aide (LTC) section and keep a copy for your own records.

Will usage reports be provided to the long-term Care home I am placed at?
No, usage reports will not be provided to the long-term care homes.

Your completion status of the Required Course will be provided to the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG), and they will update your status in the Ontario Matching Portal (OMP).

How long will this education be offered? Will it still be available during my placement in a long-term Care home?
This education will be available to you throughout the application and placement process. You will be able to access it during your placement at a long-term Care home. Your access will only end when you end your employment with the Partner Agency or if you were unsuccessful in completing the initial screening process.

My supervisor is asking me to review some of the materials on the site again. How can I do that?
This site will continue to be available to you throughout your placement and you can come back and access all materials at any time. This will not impact your completion status or change the hours on your letter.

You will have an Education Coordinator assigned to you when you start your placement. They will go through a checklist to do your onboarding and orientation. You will also receive a checklist to complete. If you identify additional training needs and resources please email us at OWRSSlearning@michener.ca to notify us.

How do I share my experiences as a Resident Support Aide, and any specific learning needs that are arising?

Periodically you may be asked to fill out a survey to share your experiences. In addition, if you have identified any new best practices, resources or tools that are used at your long-term Care home and would benefit your RSA colleagues, please email OWRSSLearning@michener.ca.

Can I share this site with friends and colleagues?
No, you are not permitted to share your access. This resource was developed specifically for applicants to the Resident Support Aide role who applied through the Ontario Matching Portal (OMP). Please do not post the access code on any public facing materials, websites or on social media.

How do I create a new account and access OWRSS Learning resources?

  1. On the main login screen, click Create new account.

  2. Complete the new account registration form.
    • Please use the same email account you used when you registered on the Ontario Matching Portal (OMP).
  3. Enter the access code provided to you by the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) in their post screening email.
    • Type the access code in. Do not copy and paste the access code as this could result in additional spaces and an invalid access code.
  4. Enter the Portal Unique ID that was assigned to your account in the Ontario Matching Portal (OMP). You can find the Portal Unique ID in the post screening email sent to you by the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) confirming you are ready for training.
  5. Wait for your email confirmation from donotreply@moodle.michenersolutions.ca with subject line "OWRSS | RORHSA Learning: account confirmation."
  6. Confirm your account by clicking the link in the confirmation email. Proceed to login using the email address and password you registered with.

What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation email?
Follow the below steps if you did not receive an email confirmation after registering:

  1. Double check your junk/spam filters for an email from donotreply@moodle.michenersolutions.ca with the subject line "OWRSS | RORHSA Learning: account confirmation."
  2. If the confirmation email is not found, please try to register again with the same email address. If you are unable to re-register, then the email has already been registered and there may be an issue with the address being blocked. It is possible that you have attempted to register but entered the incorrect email address.
  3. If you have registered with an organizational email address and did not receive a confirmation email, please reach out to the organization's helpdesk. They may need to add donotreply@moodle.michenersolutions.ca to their approved sender list.

I forgot my username and/or password. How do I reset it?

  1. On the main login screen click "Forgotten your username or password"?

Where can I obtain an access code if I do not have one?
The access code was sent to you by email from the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG). Please follow-up with the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) to obtain the access code.

What browser should I use to access the website and its resources?
We recommend you use the latest versions of Chrome (Desktop and Mobile), Firefox, Safari (Desktop and Mobile), and Edge. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer.

Please note:

  • There are known compatibility issues with Internet Explorer 10 and below, Safari 7 and below.
  • A mobile app is not available, however it is mobile responsive and can be accessed via web browser.
  • Some of the learning materials contain audio. Please have a headset or your computer speakers turned on.

I have additional technical support questions. Who should I contact?
Please contact our Helpdesk by email at OWRSSlearning@michener.ca so your request can be triaged appropriately. Your issue will be addressed by the website support team during business hours, Monday to Friday. Due to the large volume of users on this platform, it may take approximately 24-48 hours for issues to be resolved. Issues received after 5:00 PM EDT Friday will not be monitored on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or statutory holidays. Your request will be triaged and resolved the following business day.

Hiring Questions

I wasn't able to complete my training within 1 week. Who do I contact to restart my application process?
Your profile on moodle.michenersolutions.ca was deleted. Please refer back to your initial post-screening email from the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) and register again using the codes provided. You will need to start your learning from the beginning. You will have 1 week to fully complete the Required Course from the time of registration. Upon successful completion we will forward notification to the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) and your application will continue. If you are experiencing any technical issues during the registration process please email us at OWRSSlearning@michener.ca.

I have completed my training but I have not heard back and I am not sure next steps to get hired. Who do I contact?
On successful completion of your training we forward a notification to the HR Screening Vendor (WilsonHCG) and your application continues with them. If you have questions about next steps and being hired, please email WilsonHCG at OWRSSCapplication@wilsonhcg.com.
